Arthur Richard Chianello April 4, 1928 – November 4, 2023

Celebration of Life

Arthur Chianello passed away on Nov. 4 at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by his daughter Alane and his spouse Vivian. He was 95 years of age.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 20 at St. Malachy Church in Tehachapi and internment followed at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin.

His parents Bernardo Chianello and Rita Fassari were born in Palermo, Sicily and migrated to the U.S. at an early age. Arthur was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 16, 1928, and was one of nine children. He married Vivian in 1951 after serving two years in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. He was one of the Greatest Generation. He was employed as a Fireman with the Glendale Fire Dept. and retired after 24 years.

Being a Tehachapi resident for 24 years, he volunteered at the Train Depot with the Tuesday crew.

He is survived by his spouse Vivian and five children, Karen, Vicki; Alane and Craig Alden; Diane and James Duarte; and Art and Elki Chianello. He also had seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was loved and will be dearly missed forever.
