Library Big Book Sale, Oct. 14-15

Friends of the Tehachapi Library

September 30, 2023

Mark Fisher.

A beautiful collection of leather bound editions of the Firearms Classic Library from Palladium Press.

Coinciding with Tehachapi's Apple Festival, the Friends of the Library's "Big Book Sale" takes place on Oct. 14 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Oct. 15 (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) This will be another 2-in-1 sale.

There will be two areas of books set up in the library's courtyard. The first area is the "Friend's Boutique" where we will have individually priced vintage and coffee-table books, as well as DVDs and signed-by-author books.

This year we are featuring a beautiful collection of leather bound editions of the Firearms Classic Library from Palladium Press. We have over 50 of these are beautiful books, with gilded edges, spines stamped in 22 karat gold, and silk moire endpapers. We have deeply discounted these. Collectors are welcome! There will also be over 100 embossed leatherette hardcover Louis L'Amour books in the Friend's Boutique.

The second section of books for sale will be the ever popular "Bag Sale." For these books you get a bag (bags provided) for $5 and then can fill it up with the books from this area.

Once again for those that would like to shop early, we're offering the Friends of the Tehachapi Library "Community Membership" for $10/year to shop early from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday. This membership is good for all sales for one year (there are typically three sales per year). These Memberships can be purchased "at the door" Saturday morning.

On Sunday the sale becomes a "Clearance Sale." Books in the Friend's Boutique are reduced to 50% off, and our Bag Sale gets reduced to "Buck a Bag" - you can walk away with a bag of books for $1. It will be the best deal at the Apple Festival!

We are requesting no book donations until after the sale - we have nowhere to put them! Please keep your donations till after Apple Festival, we can start processing them again at that time.

Because you've asked, yes, you can help us set up on Friday afternoon, and our volunteers always get to shop first!

In fact, if you're a Tehachapian, it may be the perfect time to shop. You'll be able to park closer. If you are interested in helping with setup the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 13 (or volunteering in general), reach out to us via talk/text (661) 750-2818 or email us at FOLTehachapi@gmail.com
