On Saturday Sept. 16, 30-40 Tehachapi area students and friends gathered in Centennial Plaza to participate in a Walk for Peace, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tehachapi and the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District. An art contest was held in conjunction with the walk and the winning entries were on display prior to the walk.

Judy Trujillo from the Rotary Club met with all the participants before the walk. Participating in the walk were members of Interact Club from Tehachapi High School and Valley Oaks Charter, as well as friends and families. Many showed up with handmade signs promoting peace, love and hope.
