The Willows, CALM's new wedding venue, now accepting reservations

Open house scheduled for Sept. 16.

The California Living Museum (CALM) is now accepting reservations for its new wedding venue, The Willows at CALM. Situated within the picturesque grounds of Kern County's beloved California Living Museum, The Willows offers a truly unique setting that blends natural beauty, wildlife and love to seamlessly make any couple's special day magical.

In line with CALM's mission of highlighting native California flora and fauna, it was a natural progression for The Willows to incorporate native Palo Verde and Desert Willow trees, along with Western Red Bud, Elderberry, Morning Glory, Honey Suckle, Wild Lilac and Malo shrubs. The venue also boasts two large, stamped cement pads facing east, offering exceptional views of the foothills and Kern River. With the capacity to accommodate up to 250 guests, The Willows is well-suited for weddings of various sizes.

"The Willows at CALM is more than just a venue - it's a place where couples can bring their dream wedding to life," said Elizabeth Graff, CALM's Volunteer and Community Engagement Facilitator. "What makes our venue uniquely special is the location. Guests can say hello to our animals in an after-hours setting while sipping on their drinks and enjoying the beautiful grounds of CALM."

There are three wedding packages for couples to choose from, ranging in price and included amenities. The all-inclusive Wildflower package includes zoo access, on-site wedding coordination, a four-course dinner, champagne toast, rental equipment, professional D.J. services, lighting, security, event clean-up and more for up to 250 guests.

To celebrate the grand opening, The Willows will be hosting an open house on Sept. 16 beginning at 5 p.m. Guests can take a tour of the stunning new venue and meet with the dedicated staff who are ready to turn their wedding visions into reality. Guests are asked to RSVP at [email protected].

The Willows is nestled within the grounds of CALM, located at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy (between Lake Ming and Hart Park), just 15 minutes from downtown Bakersfield.
