Michael James O'Quinn, age 68, died July 10, 2023, in Tehachapi, California. A memorial service was held at the Wood Family Funeral Chapel in Tehachapi on Friday, July 21. Interment directly followed the service at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery Eastside.
Michael was born to Russell and Mary Alice O'Quinn on April 30, 1955, in Redlands, California. Michael grew up in Long Beach, and studied Aeronautical Engineering at Long Beach City College, where he was also a simulator instructor. He was an aviation enthusiast, and enjoyed flying, whether it was in his own private plane, or on a simulator. Michael was self-employed as a private investor. He spent some time in the Philippines where he met the love of his life, Eda Nelle. He spoke with her daily up to the day he passed.
Though now absent in body from this earth but present with the Lord, Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Alice O'Quinn; two brothers, Billy O'Quinn, and Timothy [Karen] O'Quinn; two sisters, Janice [Bob] Urke and Vicki [Tim] McClure; and many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Russell Patrick O'Quinn.
