Cheers to Charity: good fun for great charities

June 10, 2023

Provided.

Cheers to Charity is weeks away and, if you have never attended, you may want to purchase a ticket now because it is a wonderful way to have fun and support local charities. The evening is the perfect blend of outdoor ambiance, tasty food, wine and beer, dancing, games and desserts, lively chatter, and sweet reunions – all to raise money for volunteer organizations. Held at Tehachapi's Aviator Park, Cheers to Charity is set for Aug. 12, starting at 6 p.m.

Sponsors are in place; the park is reserved; beer is brewed; food is ordered; and the wine list is impressive! "People are looking for ways to get together, have fun, and give back to our community – Cheers to Charity is the best way to do just that. We have people of all ages and interests – everyone is welcome," said Social Media Coordinator Becca Dillenbeck.

For those wondering, Cheers to Charity is an outdoor fundraising event - featuring fine wines, craft and home-brewed beer, great food, a "Spirit-Free" and dessert bar, a silent auction and more. You can also try your hand at the roulette and blackjack tables or dance the night away on the dance floor - it's all for good charitable fun. This year marks the ninth year for the event.

Beyond a great night out, the goal of Cheers to Charity is to raise money and give it away to a dozen small, local nonprofits - enabling them to continue their mission for the greater good. Each year, the Cheers to Charity team select different recipient non-profits. The 2023 nonprofits are: Have a Heart Humane Society, The Motherhood Collective, Tehachapi Mountain Roller Hockey and the Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra.

Cheers is proud to help Have A Heart with spay and neuter clinics, support the Motherhood Collective as they provide outreach and resources for new moms; the Tehachapi Mountain Roller Hockey parents as they work to refurbish the aging roller hockey rink and the Tehachapi Symphony to help defray the costs for guest conductors – continuing the tradition of free symphony concerts for all.

Additionally, Cheers to Charity supports these partner nonprofits: American Legion Post 221, Central CA Animal Disaster Team, Stallion Springs CERT, Tehachapi Friends of the Library, Tehachapi Mountain Search & Rescue, Tehachapi Rotary Foundation, and the Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club
