Owners of Sim Sanitation of Tehachapi, PJ and Descygene "D" Simunovich, presented a $10,000 check donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on June 1. The presentation took place in conjunction with the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and local Make-A-Wish recipient, Super Logan. Additional attendees included Corey Costelloe, City of Tehachapi Assistant Manager, Teresa Carlson, Towneplace Suites Tehachapi Manager and Board Member of Chamber of Commerce and Dana Golding of Sims Sanitation.
"We would like to thank our community and staff for making this happen, D Simunovich said.
This donation is the Simunovich family's way of meaningfully giving back to the community through an organization they hold dearly.
"This is a small business with a lot of heart for the community," said Jeanette Pauer, representative of Make-A-Wish Foundation and president of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Jeanette went on to include that a donation of this size will help five families in fulfilling wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is the largest donation that Make-A-Wish Kern County has received to date.
