CARPD award.

At the TVRPD Board Meeting, held May 23, General Manager Corey Torres reported to the Board that the Ollie Mountain Skate Park has received an award for Outstanding Renovated Facility (Small District) from the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD). Torres then outlined the district projects that were either completed or are still in process during the 2022-23 year.

The District Offices received a new roof and a new concrete sidewalk was completed from the parking lot to the offices. A badly needed Ford F150 was added to the fleet.

At West Park a new basketball court was installed last summer. New electrical panels were installed at the baseball fields. A toddler playground was recently completed with a new ADA accessible toddler swing set installed. The swing set was made possible by a $10,000 donation received from the 2022 Cheers to Charity event.

The Aspen Builders Community Activity Center received a badly needed new gymnasium floor and Meadowbrook Park had new bleachers installed.

Brite Lake had some badly need road maintenance performed and a new ADA sidewalk installed before the Fishing Derby that was held on May 20. The event had 597 anglers registered. A $10,000 sponsorship made it possible to stock the lake for the event. On the day of the event three tagged fish were caught and one on Sunday. Those registered have a month to catch the remaining tagged fish.
