California Living Museum to celebrate 40th Birthday Bash, May 20-21

The California Living Museum will celebrate its 40th birthday during a two-day Birthday Bash on May 20 and 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special birthday admission for kids (3-12 years old) is only $4 and they must be accompanied by an adult.
There are many activities on this year's schedule to mark a huge milestone for CALM, including:
• A variety of nature-related and civic organizations who will be on hand to provide party guests with information and give-a-ways.
• Carnival games are part of every fun birthday, and each child (3-12 years old) will receive five free tickets with their admission (additional tickets can be purchased for only a quarter apiece).
• The Central California Children's Railroad will be running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and wristbands are only $2 per person with unlimited rides.
• Music will be provided by D&Y Entertainment.
• The Bakersfield Police Department K-9 team will be the main presentation Saturday. Their demonstrations are always a crowd favorite.
• Smokey Bear will be the featured guest and will be on hand both days.
• CALM's new Master Plan will be on display in the Education Center so guests can see what's in store for the next 20 years!
• How does a trout cake sound? CALM's bears love them! Several of CALM's animals will receive birthday "cakes" and "presents" made especially with them in mind.
Throughout the day, birthday treat presentations will be made at different animal exhibits.
• Guests can purchase lunch at Hunsaker Bros food service or Zepeda's Pizza; however, guests are more than welcome to bring their own picnic lunch.
Admission is $10 Adults; $7 Seniors (60+ years); and $4 Children (3-12 years). As always, there is no charge for CALM members. U.S. Military and veterans (both with military ID) receive free admission. CALM is located at 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy (between Lake Ming and Hart Park) just 15 minutes from downtown Bakersfield.
