Upcoming road maintenance at Brite Lake

Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District

TVRPD is pleased to announce that road maintenance and construction will begin at Brite Lake on the week of May 1. The project, estimated to cost $20,500, is being undertaken by Hanzel Enterprises and is expected to take about a week to complete.

The improvements being made include smoothing out the washboard, filling in ruts and potholes, and grading the campsites. Once the roads are scraped and cut, they will be watered and rolled for compaction. In addition, five semi-loads of 2" minus rock will be delivered, spread, and compacted to fill existing holes and help with erosion control throughout the main roads, including the washout near the fish cleaning station.

While the improvements are being made, we strongly encourage all users of Brite Lake to exercise caution and patience. The work being done is necessary to improve the safety and usability of the roads and campsites.

TVRPD thanks Hanzel Enterprises for their work on this project and looks forward to the completion of these improvements. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation as we work to make Brite Lake a safer and more enjoyable destination for all.
