Raising Star Fundraiser
Tehachapi Arts Center is proud to be the sponsor for Raising Star and their 5x5 fundraiser.
Local artists will create works of art on 5x5 canvases. These will be sold on 5-5-23 for $55.
Any artist wishing to participate can come to the Art Center to pick up a canvas (there are only a few left) or use their own 5 inch by 5 inch canvas. All work needs to be turned in by April 29.
Raising Star is an equine based therapy provider that works with children and adults with special needs.
Don't forget to come to our Cinco De Mayo Art Show that will display all our artist efforts.
All art is donated and for sale to raise funds for Raising Star.
Activities for April
Leila's long awaited Glass Fusion Workshop will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 1 p.m. In this class she will show you how to create your own beautiful piece of wearable art. Jam Night: Dust off that old guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele or whatever you have and come on out for a fun night of music and socializing. We are mostly a group of intermediate musicians so don't think you have to be great to join us. Bring a few copies of songs you want us to play.
Date to be announced. We're trying to pick a weekday that works for everyone, once or twice a month. Usually a Tuesday.
Ed's Portraiture now taking orders
Our resident artist and instructor Edward Vasqkedi is now offering his services as a portrait artist.
He will create an original work of art in several media including oils, acrylics and sketching.
We sell art supplies
The Arts Center has increased its inventory of art supplies. We have more paints and for the first-time alcohol ink is available. We also have polymer clay.

Join our co-op
If you are looking for a place to showcase your art, consider joining us here as a co-op member or an artist vender. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artists are welcome, too. We're proud to have a growing number of up-and-coming artists getting their first start here at the Arts Center.
Our Facebook page manager Marta Escanuelas has been very busy so don't forget to visit us there. You can view all the classes and updates online.
