Tehachapi Arts Center

March 4, 2023

Provided.

Realism Painting Class will be on March 9 at 3 p.m.

Artist of the Month

Mikey Russell is our artist of the month. A resident of Tehachapi for the last 5 years, Mikey is a student at Christian Leaders Institute and is studying for the Ministry. He started his interest in art at a very young age and hopes to incorporate his love for art in some aspect of his future career. Possibly as an art therapist.

Realism Painting Class

On Thursday, March 9 Oleander will present her Realism Class. This month's subject is a curious cat peeking out of its hiding spot. The painting will be done in acrylic paint. This class is held from 3 to 5 p.m.

Polymer Clay Class

On Saturday, March 11 from noon to 4 p.m. Cathy is conducting another Polymer Clay Class. This time creating crosses that appear to be made of wood. They would be a great Easter present for your own family or a loved one. There is one on display at the center and it's beautiful.

Improv Night

Also on Saturday, March 11 in the evening is our Improv Class. Hosted by John and Susan Hall an entertaining evening of interacting with other people exorcising your communication skills. And there's coffee and tea.

Paint Night

This month our Paint Night is on Saturday, March 18 with Edward Vasqkedi. We will have wine, soda and hor d'oeuvres. This month Ed is teaching how to do an abstract. The piece is on display at the Art Center. This one looks like a lot of fun.

Children's Art Class

Children's Art Class is every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. We also offer a private class for birthdays or your own group of friends. Call the Arts Center for more information.

Jam Night

Dust off that old guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele or whatever you have and come on out for a fun night of music and socializing. We are mostly a group of intermediate musicians so don't think you have to be great to join us. Bring a few copies of songs you want us to play.

Date to be announced. It's always on a Tuesday, once or twice a month.

Alari Designs

Let our jeweler Mike create one-of-a-kind custom-made jewelry for yourself or that special person in your life. He also replaces watch batteries, re-sizes rings and repairs all types of jewelry. Mike's jeweler hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. Call or text (661) 805-0849 for more information.

Join our co-op

If you are looking for a place to showcase your art, consider joining us here as a co-op member or an Artist Vender. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artists are welcome, too. We're proud to have a growing number of up-and-coming artists getting their first start here at the Arts Center.

Our Facebook page manager Marta has been very busy, so don't forget to visit us there. You can view all the classes and updates online.

The Tehachapi Arts Center (TAC) is a cooperative continuing in the tradition of Mel White's Treasure Trove. TAC provides a venue for local artisans to gather, learn, teach, display, and sell their art. We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). TAC is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach us at: (661) 822-6794.
