After a long wait, the election results were certified. The CSD office in Bear Valley Springs was the site of the swearing in of three candidates who won the seats on the board. The three final candidates are incumbent Terry Quinn, Martin Hernandez and Geva Frevert.

At a special Board Meeting on Dec. 21, with a full house of community supporters, Director of Human Resources, and Assistant to the General Manager, Kristy McEwan, swore in these new Directors for the Board. Acting President, Terry Quinn presented to the outgoing Board member and Immediate Past President, Gregory Hahn, a plaque of appreciation for his five years of service to the community. In his acceptance speech, Greg Hahn gave an impassioned plea to Board members to treat the staff of the CSD with courtesy and respect.

After the swearing in, it was time for Board executive elections. John Grace was voted in as President for the coming year with a vote of four to one. Charles Jensen was voted in as Vice-president with a vote of three to two. Committee positions will be determined in the new year.

Congratulations to the new board. Sincere appreciation goes to Leana Mitchell and Jerry Pittinger for also stepping up.

The community recently lost a significant member. Scott Miller was likely best known for his wonderful annual Christmas display in his home's front yard on Cantle Court. The community loved to cruise by, and/or stop to take in the extensive decorations. Heartfelt condolences go to Carol, Caitlyn and all the family on this sad loss.

I would like to take this opportunity to say I hope each and every member of this community, and Tehachapi as a whole, had a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
