Also appointed at the City Council meeting was new City Treasurer Mariana Gutierrez. Following the resignation of Stacey Curry, the city advertised for an interim treasurer. Gutierrez, who had worked for the city before becoming a local Realtor, was the lone applicant for the position. Gutierrez will finish out Curry's term that will end in November, 2024.

The Tehachapi City Council meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. They are currently meeting at the Police Department Community Room, 220 W. C St.
