Mayor Phil Smith presented a Certificate of Recognition to City Treasurer Stacy Curry.

Mayor Phil Smith presented a Certificate of Recognition to City Treasurer Stacy Curry who recently turned in her resignation. The City Council voted 5-0 to advertise for a replacement to hold the office until the end of Curry's term in November of 2024 rather than incur the expense of a special election as it is too late for the office to be placed on the 2022 November ballot. The city will advertise to fill the vacancy with a Tehachapi resident to fulfill the remainder of Ms. Curry's term.

The Tehachapi City Council meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. They are currently meeting at the Police Department Community Room, 220 W. C St.
