Local scholarships are important to Tehachapi Mountain Branch/American Association of University Women. When the branch was established in 1984 a special fund called, “Scholarship Fund for Women,” was set up to give tuition assistance to a Tehachapi High School graduate. The amount given has now surpassed $250,000 and money is given to several graduates each year.

This year the public is asked to contribute to a scholarship fundraiser by purchasing tickets to attend an exclusive production of “On Golden Pond.” Tehachapi Community Theatre has partnered with AAUW to make this possible on Sunday, June 19 at a 2 p.m. matinee.
