Rotary President Paul Kaminski and Miles Muzio.

On May 12, the Tehachapi Rotary Club was treated to a talk by Miles Muzio, the chief meteorologist for Bakersfield news station KBAK. He has held that position since 2003. In 2017, he became the Meteorology Instructor at the California Aeronautical University at Meadows Field in Bakersfield.

Muzio originally spent 12 years as an Air Force forecaster in Alaska. He has written extensively on forecasting techniques and done experimental research on UV radiation forecasting methods as well as a method for predicting El Niño conditions in the Pacific. He and his wife spend their vacations as tornado chasers.

The Rotary Club of Tehachapi is a volunteer service organization with the motto, "Service Above Self." The club meets on Thursdays at noon. For more information about Rotary Club, you can visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RotaryClubofTehachapi/ or contact club President Paul Kaminski, (661) 699-5851.
