Luis is a pilot for the Air Force and is currently flying the C12 military passenger and transport aircraft. They loved the idea of living where there were four definite seasons, and Tehachapi filled the bill.
Luis was born in New York City where he grew up with a brother and three sisters. All of his siblings are still in the eastern part of the country. He attended the College of Aeronautics and Technology located in New York City in Queens and he graduated in 2006 before joining the Air Force.
Pamela was born in Cali, Colombia and moved to the United States in 2002 and she lived with her sister in Florida. After she married Luis, the couple lived in Arkansas for a while before they moved to Germany. They now have a very inquisitive 4-year-old son named Gabe who keeps mom on her toes while Dad is working. Pamela is currently going to school, studying business and accounting.
When I asked Luis what he plans to do following his retirement from the military, he said, “keep flying,” perhaps for the airlines he added. When he is home, Luis said he is really into “auto repair” and is forever buying new tools. Pamela said that she loves to hike and is happy to be in an area that has so many places to explore.
