The gazebo at the lake has been torn down and rebuilt by a local hardworking Eagle Scout, Maverick Kendrick. New and improved, Maverick's Eagle project is finished. Thanks to all who donated, and thanks to the scouts and scoutmasters in the community who volunteered their time and skills to assist with this.

Thanks to the Per Capita Grant from California State Parks, we will be aerating the lake and adding some playground equipment to both Horsethief and Man O' War Park. We will be replacing old picnic benches and adding updated equipment for all families to enjoy.

The bridge is in need of oiling and a few repairs, which we will be working on this summer. Many of the street signs are faded or missing, so we are adding those to our list as well. You are the eyes and ears in this community, so if you see something that needs to be cleaned, repaired, or replaced we want to hear from you! Cleanup Day has been moved

Please note the new date for Cleanup Day is Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. until the bins are full. The cleanup bins will be located at the Stallion Springs Community Center, 27850 Stallion Springs Dr. The flow of traffic on Cleanup Day will enter from Churchill near the mailboxes, go through the dirt road around the community center building, through the community center parking lot and exit onto Stallion Springs Drive.

Neighborhood Watch

Stallion Springs Neighborhood Watch (SSNW) block captains and Facebook admins want to give you, our awesome residents, a huge thank you for all of your contributions last year. If anyone would like to help improve our community, donations can be made through the SSCSD's non-profit, The Stallion Springs Foundation with specific notation for the SS Police Department, SS Parks & Rec, SS Gym, SS Dog Park, SS Playground Equipment, etc. These community organizations rely on your generous donations to help purchase new equipment or replace aging parts. During 2021, our monthly meetings were cancelled due to COVID restrictions, but our police chief, Gary Crowell, did conduct several police information meetings, which were open to all residents and were well attended, either in person (with COVID requirements in place), or by Zoom provided by the CSD.

The chief shared his plans to continue these meetings more often, to expand the group and get more volunteers involved in the leadership of SSNW in 2022. The meetings have been valuable to our residents, and provided important information regarding crime, crime prevention and safety issues in our community. The chief and his officers always have had an open door policy with our residents and strive to maintain a friendly and helpful or educational approach to any problems.

Houchin Blood Bank

We are happy to report we were able to register 48 donors, including 6 first-time donors.  We collected 42 units of blood.  With every one unit saving three lives, your contributions and ongoing support will help save 126 lives in our community!

Looking for a great summer job

Stallion Springs Parks and Recreation will be hiring seasonal certified lifeguards. You must have a Red Cross lifeguard certificate. Successful completion results in a two-year certification in lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Digital certificate available upon successful completion of course. Prerequisites: all students must complete the online lifeguard pre-assessment prior to in-person class. Proof of pre-assessment completion required to attend class. 300-yard swim test, 10 lb. brick test, ability to tread water without hands for two minutes. Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CSD boardroom or at the community center subject to COVID restrictions. The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., March 15.
