Winter weather is setting in. It's time to look at the activities available through the Parks and Recreation Department of the CSD. Activities include, free open gym, dance classes, volleyball, craft nights, exercise classes and more.

Sonya's Fit Friday is on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Class includes a warm up, full body workout and a cool down period. Cost is $8 per class. For more information, contact the instructor at myauntsonya@gmail.com.

Judo is back. Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym for ages 6 and up. Cost is $20 per month.

Flow Yoga is led by Sonya, a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor. Classes are on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m. for anyone 13 and up. Cost is $8 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Email the instructor at myauntsonya@gmail.com for further information.

Ballet dance classes are available on Tuesdays for ages 3-6 starting at 4 p.m. On Thursdays, open age Ballet and Tap are available 4 to 5 p.m., and Jazz and Tap for ages 8 and up is from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Pickleball is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Beginning in February Open Gym will be expanded on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and will possibly including men's Basketball.

Police Report

Police Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for December 2021. The department had 28 arrests, issued 16 citations, had 134 reports, 154 calls for service, completed 21 officer-initiated investigations, 42 field interviews and four medical assists. There were 10 vacation house checks and the department assisted other law enforcement agencies 14 times.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CSD boardroom or at the community center, subject to COVID-19 restrictions. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 15.
