Shelter on the Hill, a humane society in Lebec, will be holding its 19th annual Festival of Wine & Cheese fundraiser on Sept. 18, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Tejon Ranch Equestrian Center located at 1401 Crane Canyon Rd., in Lebec. Wine tasting, as well as food and live music, will be on hand and don't forget the live and silent auctions. All this for only $30 presale or $35 at the door.

Since its inception, Shelter on the Hill has rescued over 1,200 cats and dogs. During the COVID-19 pandemic last year, the Animal Care Center fed, housed and loved a total of 152 animals including 108 adoptions (39 dogs and 69 cats). Thirty-three lost animals were also returned to grateful owners. In addition, the Shelter on the Hill was able to assist with spay and neuter surgeries and micro-chipping of more than 200 additional cats and dogs.

Come, enjoy the wine and help Shelter on the Hill continue to care for their rescued dogs and cats. To purchase tickets or for more information contact Sue at (661) 472-4211. For more information about Shelter on the Hill, visit http://www.shelteronthehill.org.
