Melissa Ann Fowler, 52, passed away peacefully in her sleep June 11.

Melissa was born April 26, 1969 in Lancaster to Ted and Jean Fowler. She graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1987. She then attended cosmetology school to become a manicurist. She worked as a manicurist in Lancaster and the central coast where she developed many loving relationships with her clients over the course of more than 30 years.

As a young girl, Melissa loved playing softball, was active in 4-H, loved riding dirt bikes with her Papa Martin and shared a love for horses with her dad.  As an adult crocheting for friends and family, as well as for charity, became her pastime. Throughout her life she had an adventurous spirit and boating on Lake Nacimiento was her happy place.

Melissa is survived by her parents Ted and Jean Fowler; her twin daughters, Riley and Madison Halasey; her sister and brother in-law, Andrea and Peder Hansen; their children Kayla Bradley and William Hansen; and a large loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins and two great nieces.

A celebration of life was held at Shepard of the Hills Church in Tehachapi on June 19.

Wood Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care. For condolences, please visit http://www.woodmortuary.net.
