Stallion merchants support Bike Helmet Program.
Stallion Springs merchants joined together to provide helmets for the Police Department's "Be a 'Roll' Model" bicycle helmet safety campaign.

Even Maida of the General Store is providing $2 merchandise for the officers to pass out to kids wearing helmets as incentives to keep wearing them. Any child under the age of 18 must wear a helmet when riding or operating a bicycle, non-motorized scooter, electric motorized boards (hover boards), skateboards or inline skates. It is the best way to prevent serious and fatal head injuries. Every year nearly 2,000 children in California are sent to the emergency room with serious bicycle related injuries, almost a third of which are traumatic brain injuries. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) studies have shown that wearing a helmet can reduce the odds of head injuries by more than 50 percent and the odds of injuries to the neck, face and head by 33 percent.
The Stallion Springs Police Department is in need of monetary donations for the purchase of bike helmets, a safety coupon incentive program and educational materials for our community. Donations can be made to the Support Stallion Springs Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your donations are 100 percent tax-deductible. Just tell the SSCSD staff your donation is for the "Bike Safety" campaign. Please contact the Stallion Springs Community Services District at (661) 822-3268 or swing on by for more information.
Police officers will be monitoring the area and will pass out coupons and information to youth that are not complying to assist in obtaining a helmet.
Library
The Stallion Springs Library and newly formed art group, "The Stallion Springs Artist Exchange," are having a combined art show and book sale, the last Saturdays of June, July and August at the Stallion Springs Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please stop by and have a cookie and coffee or iced tea.

The Stallion Springs Library is located at 20030 Pellisier Road. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. If you would like to volunteer, contact Emma at (661) 822-1385. Come check it out.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and specify to the dispatcher that you live in Stallion Springs. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's office.

If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.
The Stallion Springs Police Department encourages residents and guests to sign up for local Nixle public notification alerts and to create a Smart911 profile. These safety communication systems are free for you to sign up.
Water Bill Survey
The CSD is conducting a survey to determine if residents would like to receive their water bills by email or text in lieu of a paper bill. Please contact the CSD at sscsd@Stallionspringsscsd.com to express your interest.
Parks and Recreation
Kid's Summer Day Camp is scheduled for July 19-23 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for ages 9 through 12. Join the camp for crafts, games, swimming and other fun summer activities. Contact the CSD for further information.
Stallion Springs Board of Directors
The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m., normally in the CSD boardroom. The next meeting will be held July 20 at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board room at the Community Center or Zoom subject to the restrictions created by the Coronavirus.
