New auction opens in Tehachapi

Hopkins Auction is a new local auction company in Tehachapi. They call themselves a “mom and pop shop” and, indeed, it is a family operation. Jon and Shara Hopkins operate the business with the help of their 16-year-old son, Jet.
The Hopkins buy truckloads of major store overstock and high quality returns and resell them on an online platform that reaches all 50 states. They recently had four auctions of Amazon overstock and have two upcoming auctions featuring over $250,000 worth of retail merchandise from Amazon, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Home Depot, with no reserve.
On some Amazon overstock products the opening bids will start at $2.50. All are new overstock items and are unused. Also available will be Home Depot online returns of doors, windows and blinds. All the home products have an opening bid of $10 or less. They have a few entry doors, metal screens doors, shutters and blinds. Some of the online returns have box damage or were shipping refusals.
And finally, they recently received a truckload from a major sporting goods company with Lakers t-shirts, hats, stickers and magnets, as well as Kansas City hats, t-shirts and hoodies. These are all new overstock. New, also, are coolers and sporting goods for baseball, softball, football and basketball, with lots of water bottles from Hydroflask.
It is all worth checking out. They have 3 events coming up through July on their website, http://www.HopkinsAuction.com.
Auction #1 is online now and ends June 26. The first lot closes at 10 a.m., with a lot closing every 20 seconds thereafter.
On the weekend of July 9, 10 and 11 there will be a mega warehouse yard sale in Bear Valley Springs, Tehachapi. You will need a gate pass. If online auction is not for you, this is a good day to come by, see inventory in person and buy 50 percent off retail.
Auction #2 will be Saturday, July 17. These items will be online and include primarily sporting goods and any left over inventory. Hopkins Auction can deliver to your door if you are local or ship if you are far away. Of course, you can pick up in person by appointment.
If you spend $600 or more, they will ship or deliver for free and waive the 15 percent buyer’s premium, which is standard for online auctions. Otherwise, if you spend $150 or more, they will deliver or ship for free. Participants will also have the opportunity to win 4 box seats for the PRCA Mountain Festival Rodeo on Friday, August 20. No purchase is necessary, 1 entry for registering to bid and an additional entry for each winning bid.
