What's Up in Bear Valley Springs?

Memorial Day is coming up soon and the Bear Valley Springs veterans Association will be holding their service at the veterans Memorial by Cub Lake, May 31 at 11 a.m. Memorial Day supports all service members who died in battle while serving their country. You do not have to be a veteran to attend. Masks and social distancing will be practiced during the event.

The pool will be open for public swim on May 29 for the weekend. On June 1, the pool will be open for water aerobics. The class runs from 10:25 to 11:45 a.m. and costs $3 per class for BVS members, or $30 for the month. It is held Monday to Friday. Water aerobics is highly therapeutic for many ailments.

The first session of youth swim lessons start on June 15. See e-buzz for full details on costs and times. Lap swim is from 6:30 to 8:45 a.m. Swim team starts at 8:45 and goes till 10:15 a.m. Again, check with e-buzz for costs and registration info.

Tennis summer camp for youth will be starting on June 7 for novice, June 14 for intermediate and June 21 for advanced or high school players.

After last fall's success with community garage sales, the Association is holding a "garummage" sale, where you can hold a one day garage sale at your home or take a booth at Cub Lake. This all takes place on June 5. Contact the Whiting Center to register.

On Wednesday, May 12, seven people, Litter Loathers, showed up to clean the roadsides from the gate to Highway 202. Several bags of litter were gathered. A lot of the litter was plastic items. Please, neighbors, secure your plastic because it harms the environment.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To participate in the above events, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
