While their high schools elected not to play football due to COVID-19, players from Tehachapi and Boron High Schools have joined forces to create "Mountain Elite", a club football team that competes in Bullhead City, Arizona. The team posted a 2-0 record in their first two weeks of competition. The squad is coached by local members of the football community not affiliated with Tehachapi High School.
