EMB Martial Arts of Tehachapi is pleased to announce their new High Intensity Interval Training (HITT) program starting in April called "Fightfit."

It's a 30-minute, quick paced, full body, cardio workout circuit, designed for those who want to be in fighting shape, but don't necessarily have the desire or time to join a full Martial Arts program. The program works like this: there are nine rounds or stations that you navigate through. Each round is three minutes with a 30 second break in between rounds. (9 X 3 minutes = 27 minutes. 8 X 30 seconds = 4 minutes. 27 + 4 = 30 minutes.)

The clock runs continuously so you can arrive at any time. (Round or Station One opens every three and a half minutes.) Besides the obvious improvements of cardio health and body shaping, one awesome side effect will be an increased ability to punch and kick with more power and precision, which would prove beneficial if you ever find yourself in a position having to defend yourself or someone you love.

No kickboxing experience is necessary. (An EMB Martial Arts trainer will be present to assist you with the basics.)

This program is designed for all fitness levels. Work at your own intensity. You can increase your intensity as your physical fitness improves. Workout barefoot (suggested) or with your tennis shoes. Boxing gloves will be available for purchase. You may also use your own or you can use a loaner pair.

The first phase of the Fightfit program launches on April 12. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EMB Martial Arts is located at 20424 W. Valley Blvd., #C, next door to Domingo's restaurant in Old Town Tehachapi. For more information call (661) 900-8004.
