Memorial welcomes cloth mask donations

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Kern County and are now welcoming donations of cloth masks from our community. While cloth masks will not be used in the direct care of patients with COVID-19, they will be worn by other hospital staff in order to preserve critical equipment in patient care areas where it’s needed most.

We have included instructions on how to make these masks on our website: http://www.dignityhealth.org/central-california/about-us/covid19-donations

We’re so grateful for the cloth mask donations that have been dropped off to our hospitals over the last few days. We can feel the love that went into each mask! Thank YOU!

If you or someone you know is planning to donate masks, we have two convenient drop off locations. You can stop by the Friends of Mercy Foundation office (located to the right of Mercy Hospital Southwest at 551 Shanley Court) or the entrance to Memorial Hospital (420 34th Street) to donate masks. We kindly ask that you leave the masks in the designated bins.

From your hearts, into the hands of our medical professionals—we thank you for your consideration. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and “humankindness.”
