During the 2018 Kids Day at the Museum, the Bee Man explains how honeybees build a honeycomb.

Preparations are underway for the annual Kids Day at the Museum event to be held Saturday, Sept. 21 from Noon to 3 p.m. on the 300 block of South Green Street in Tehachapi, between the Heritage Museum and the Errea House Museum. Hoping to develop interest in local history, the Tehachapi Heritage League is arranging for artists and organizations to offer hands-on activities that teach and entertain. Children of all ages will be invited to bead bracelets, sew quilt squares, create chalk drawings, make simple bird feeders and decorate rocks, among other experiences. A Scavenger Hunt will send them into the Heritage Museum, Errea House and garden, where additional demonstrations and activities will be available.

The day is not just for kids, as young and old alike will find displays and projects to pique their interest. Admission and all activities are free.

The Tehachapi Heritage Museum is located at 310 S. Green St. Phone Kids Day Coordinator Dixie Coutant at (661) 599-1889 for further information.
