Stallion Springs Community Church is saying goodbye to Pastor John Barnes. Barnes has been the Pastor there for three years and is moving on to a new adventure as a teacher and coach in Stephensville, Tex. Originally from Texas, the move back is going home for them.

His wife, Cristi, will continue to pursue her master's degree. They will also continue with their missionary work in Haiti. Barnes said, "We have loved our time here. It has been a time of growth for us as a family, a time of healing for us. We are excited about where the church is and where it is going. There is a great community here in Stallion."

Police Report

Police Chief Gary Crowell filed a report of statistics for June 2019. The Department had no arrests, issued no citations, had 45 reports, 59 calls for service, completed 59 officer initiated investigations, 11 field interviews and did two medical assists. There were 21 vacation house checks, and the department assisted other law enforcement agencies 13 times.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Home alone?

Do you live alone? Do you live an isolated life? Does your family live in a distant community? Would you like to have someone check on you periodically just to be sure you are doing well?

The Stallion Springs Community Service Unit, citizen volunteers working with the police department, are organizing a program of contact and caring to insure the safety of our residents who are alone and would appreciate having someone check on them and their wellbeing.

Calls would be to individuals on a prearranged basis. If a problem is detected the appropriate help would be dispatched. This is a volunteer program. If you are interested in this program contact the CSD and someone will follow up with you.

Parks and Recreation

Oktoberfest will be on, Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Stallion Springs Community Center.

Fun for the whole family – food, beer, wine, gifts, and kid-friendly activities. No pets allowed, with the exception of trained service animals.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
