Stallion Springs Board of Directors
The Board of Directors recognized Director Clydell Lampkin who resigned effective Feb. 1, 2018 for her service to the community at the Feb. 20, 2018 meeting. Lampkin has moved from the area.
The remaining Directors of the Stallion Springs Community Service District intend to fill the vacancy by appointment made at the Board's regular meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Persons residing within the community of Stallion Springs Community Service District and otherwise qualify to serve as a Director and who are interested in being appointed to fill the vacancy, are invited to obtain an application and submit their name and resume to the District. Deadline for applications is Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. Contact David Aranda, General Manager, at daranda@stallionspringscsd.com.
The Board of Directors meet on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 20, at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
Police Report
In the month of January the Stallion Springs Police Department issued six citations. There were 145 calls for service, 79 reports, 16 want and warrant checks, 114 officer initiated investigations, 14 field interviews, and two medical assists.
The Community Service Unit conducted six vacation house checks, and one bus stop check.
Please report suspicious activity that is in progress to the SSPD by contacting KCSO dispatch at (661) 861-3110. Do it when you see it. A delay in reporting can allow the suspicious persons to leave the area making it difficult to locate the subjects. Remember to tell the dispatcher that you are in Stallion Springs and requesting a Stallion Springs officer.

CERT
CERT is offering a Basic Training Class for interested community members. For more information call (661) 412-CERT (2378) or go to the CERT website at http://www.stallionspringscsd.com/cert. Spring 2018 CERT Basic Training Class has the following dates and times. Saturday, March 3, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 17, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
POA
The POA is gearing up and hosting general meetings with guest speakers that can provide you with valuable information about the community. At the Feb. 22 meeting, CSD General Manager David Aranda was the speaker. Aranda gave updates on the roads, waste water plant, golf course, parks and other issues in the community.
The POA will hold a Round Up and Flea Market on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Center and they are looking for vendors. It will be a large community yard sale in the parking lot and inside the gym. New and craft items will be available in the gym along with yard sale items in the parking lot. Here's your chance to sell your crafts and all of your unwanted items after spring cleaning. Space is limited. To reserve an inside spot or an outside space, email Debbie@mccasland.com. The POA is a nonprofit organization with profits going to community needs and the scholarship fund.
