Event

First Friday fun fest – Oct. 7, Friday evening 5 to 8 p.m. Meat the artists and enjoy our ever changinginventory. Come enjoy food and wine and listen to music by Art Larsen on Clarinet.

Open Studios

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove do not require reservations – you can come and be inspired to do your best work (or play!) in our comfortable and creative environment and share ideas with other artists and crafters. No teachers will be available during open studios. Come any time the store is open and classes are not using the entire room. Three hour Open Studio sessions are available for $5. Come on over and get busy being creative!

Friday morning - 10 to 1 p.m. Open Studio - All Media.

Classes

Reservations for all classes with a deposit must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. Students may bring their own supplies for classes or purchase supplies at the Treasure Trove. Monday mornings 10 to 12 p.m. - Drawing with the Right Side of the Brain with Lucinda Thomas for $15 per session. Students will learn basic drawing techniques using the "Right Side of The Brain" approach. New students are welcome on any class

date. Supplies are newsprint, sketch book, assortment of sketching pencils. Reservations are required.

Monday afternoons from 1 to 3 or 4 p.m. - Kids Classes for $15 a session plus supplies. A different class and media each week. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Classes will include: Drawing, Clay, Painting, Sculpey, Soap Stone, Macramé, Origami, String art, Lettering and more. Reservations and payment for all classes required 48 hours before the scheduled class. Please call the Treasure Trove for additional information.

9-26 - Yarn Art (God's Eye) - with Lucinda Thomas

10-3 - Clay Hand Building - with Lucinda Thomas

Tuesday afternoons, 3 to 5 p.m. - Earth Clay with Gloria Moore for $25 per class plus clay and firing charge. A weekly open workshop to explore various methods of working with earth based clay.

Wednesday mornings 10 to 2 p.m. Adventures in Painting with Juanita Niemeyer. A workshop for artists. Bring your own project or work on a project supplied by the teacher. Juanita is an experienced art teacher and can help with techniques for whatever you want to paint. Paint on canvas, wood, glass, paper or ceramic bisque. $20 per session (not including materials). A variety of materials are available for sale at the Treasure Trove. Come any Wednesday and experience your creativity. Please bring lunch. Lunch break will be half an hour.

Thursday afternoons from 1:15 to 4:15 p.m. - Fiber Arts with Karen Stevens for $15 per session. Need help getting started or completing a project? Bring your project or idea to class and let Karen help you get going. Come once or every week. Beginners – Karen will teach you the basics. Projects may include Knitting, Crocheting, Cross Stitch, Needle Point, Tatting and Embroidery.

Sept. 24, Saturday from 10 to 4 p.m. - Watercolor Workshop Birds, Birds, Birds with Nancy Waldron for $40 plus materials. Come explore watercolor bird painting. Several patterns available. All experience levels welcome. Class limit 12.

Oct. 1, Saturday afternoon from 10 to 1 p.m. - Jewelry Making with Dawn Callahan for $25 Plus Materials. Learn beading and jewelry making basics: Create your own necklace and earrings.

Oct. 2, Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. - Polymer Clay Holiday Ornaments with Cathy Clark for $30 Plus Materials. The class will create fun Holiday Ornaments with polymer clay. All skill levels are welcome.

Oct. 8, Saturday from 10 to 2 p.m. - Mine and Process Local Clay with Gloria Moore for $30.00. Students will meet Gloria and drive out to a place in Rosamond where she mines her clay. The group will then return to the Treasure Trove and start processing the clay so that it can be worked and eventually fired.

Oct. 15, Saturday morning from 10 to 12 p.m. - Iris Paper Folding - Halloween and Fall designs with Janet Meabon for $20. Class price includes materials to make one card. Learn to make sensational cards with folded paper. Create a special Greeting. The class price includes materials to make one card. Materials for additional cards will be available for $5.
