What's Up in Stallion Springs?

Welcome to Rebecca Sipes the new Office Administrator for the Stallion Springs CSD. Becky, as she prefers to be called, started Tuesday, July 5. Her experience includes past employment at the Murrieta Water District and she has Board Secretary experience, including several training certificates and she is very customer oriented. A Tehachapi area resident, Sipes is married and has four children. General Manager Lori Rogers said, "I think she will be a great addition to our office staff." Sipes replaces long time Administrator, Julie Brady, who resigned effective July 8.

Police Report

Police Chief Mike Grant sent the following thank you note message to CERT, Neighborhood Watch and the Community Service unit teams: "In light of the events in Dallas, Texas, I wanted you and all of our volunteers to know how much I and my officers appreciate the support that we have from our community and volunteers. It allows us to continue on doing our jobs, without hesitation. These are very challenging times for law enforcement across the nation. Your support, words of encouragement, and willingness to be part of our team makes all the difference in the world. Thank you!"

CERT

Fire season has descended upon our mountain communities. When we are asked to deploy for a wild-land fire, communication is the key from that first call to activate to the de-brief after the incident. On Wednesday July 6, the CERT team held a meeting to practice their radio skills. Team Leader Sandy Young reminded the group, " We must continue to practice, practice, practice and "grow" our communication skills for when we experience that inevitable disaster."

The Neighborhood Watch

The SSNW meeting scheduled for Wednesday's July 13 was cancelled, due to the Block Captains' extremely busy summer schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience.

SSNW has its own Facebook page: "Stallion Springs Neighborhood Watch" and is a "Closed Group", open to SS Residents. "Like" the page and request to join us. The SS Bulletin Board page is "Public" and was created for all our SS Community Groups to share their meetings and events in one location.
