Winter Wednesday: Planting of Triassic Vineyards

March 11, 2015

Chuck McCollough

Triassic will be gathering folks together, once again, to listen to a very special speaker. Mark your calendars for March 11, 2015, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This month's featured host presenter is our vineyard founder, Chuck McCollough. There are significant memories that we know people hold dear, and we are honored to listen to Chuck tell his story.

Chuck McCollough was a career geological engineer for Exxon, and he traveled extensively throughout the world. However, it was in his retirement, and following the passing of his wife, that he embarked upon his local endeavor with Cummings Valley. His knowledge of land, soils and horticulture took him into the specific area of viticulture and vineyards. At the age of 79, he began the ambitious task of planting Triassic Legacy Vineyards. Chuck will be speaking on the original planting project.

Seeing the superior quality of grapes that have rendered award-winning wines, the original start-up of Triassic is now historic. He will be showing a 15 minute video of the original planting, which includes community volunteers that contributed time and efforts to laying down the rows of 6,000 vines. Come check it out – you might see yourself.

March 11, 2015 will be our last of our four lecture series for this winter. It seems that the snow has evaded us so far this year. However, winter is not over, yet!

Out in Cummings Valley at Triassic Legacy Vineyards our rows and rows of vines still need their "winter pruning".

Please join us for a cozy atmosphere of friends and intrigue. This lecture is FREE to the public and bound to be a story of interest. Snacks and refreshments will be served, and fine wine will be available for purchase.
