    In the Aug. 8 meeting, the TUSD school board reported on new facility changes in progress, trainings and key focuses for TUSD ahead of the 2023-24 school year.     TUSD recognized the Tehachapi Resource Conservation District for their donation and planting of 30 trees throughout TUSD campuses at the June 27 board meeting. Jon Hammond, Julia Baraclough and Cheryl Casdorph, representatives of Tehachapi Resource Conservation District, stated that this donation was made in partnership with JDB Sales Nursery, who discounted the trees to cost and shipping.     New police chief Richard Standridge will report for work on Monday, June 26, 2023 after being sworn into the position on June 19, 2023 at the city council meeting.     Councilmember Philip Smith informed of progress updates for a truck-climbing lane to be added to the CA-58 Hwy from Keene to Caliente at the June 5 meeting.
