At the Oct. 19 meeting of the Tehachapi Rotary Club, Edward Martin, head of Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley Hospital and fellow Rotarian, updated members on AHTV activities and reviewed the major staff members of the hospital.
He said that AHTV hospital is rated in the top 10% of hospitals nationally in patient care and announced the recent opening of PT Solutions at 122 S. Green St. This is the new 3,500 square foot home of the hospital's physical therapy unit. Adventist Health has also acquired the Bakersfield Heart Hospital this year.
Martin announced that the members of the Hospital Guild have pledged to raise the funds necessary for the purchase of a Zeto EEG headset. According to Zeto's website, the headset fits more like a bicycle helmet and "goes on and adjusts easily in less than five minutes without wires, glue or cleanup."
Director of Clinic Operations Will Zonicle was introduced by Martin. Zonicle heads the Adventist Health Rural Clinics, including Mojave and California City, and the Adventist Health Mobile Clinics. His presentation highlighted the staff of all the rural clinics, as well as the Adventist surgical staff. In closing, he announced that Adventist will be opening another rural clinic this year in Rosamond.
The Tehachapi Rotary Club donated 70 coats to the Salvation Army Coat Drive earlier in the month. Rotary President Kaminski told The Loop that the winner of the Apple Drop during Apple Festival was Merlin Pinckard of Tehachapi. The Apple Drop was a joint project of Tehachapi Rotary and Lions Clubs. The winner received $1,000 in gift cards.
