The Board of Directors of Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District (TVHD) announced the appointment of their new CEO, Peggy Mendiburu. Mendiburu will join TVHD on Feb. 6. She will be leaving her position as administrative assistant at Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley.

"I am happy and excited to have been chosen for the CEO position at Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District. I am looking forward to my new role and working with the District Board, staff and this community," said Mendiburu in a statement issued through TVHD.

Mendiburu and her husband Michael have lived in Tehachapi for 20 years. Prior to joining AHTV, she was Clerk of the Board for TVHD and worked for both entities during the construction of the new hospital. She has over 20 years of governance experience from her positions with TVHD and Kern County including the Kern County Commission on Aging and other county subcommittees.

"It is bittersweet leaving my position with Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley," said Mendiburu, "but I look forward to working together to promote and improve the quality of life and healthcare in our community."
