Tamara was born on Sept. 14, 1958 and passed away peacefully in Bakersfield on Aug. 6, holding hands with her husband Tim Singer after a valiant battle with cancer.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Hector Ruiz of Valley Bible Fellowship.
A memorial service will be held at Wood Family Funeral Service on Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
Tamara was born in Burbank, California. She attended Burroughs High School and then Los Angeles City College where she received her degree in nursing. She continued her education and received her Bachelors of Science in nursing. She worked many years tenderly caring for patients in Burbank, Hawaii, San Diego and Denver. During her nursing career she also volunteered as a nurse at a rural hospital in Kenya Africa for a year.
She moved to Tehachapi in 2006 and attended church where she volunteered her time as head of the prayer team, answering calls at all hours for people in need of spiritual help, and telling people of the love and hope always found in her Savior, Jesus Christ. In 2011, she met the love of her life, Tim Singer at church. They were married in 2020 and enjoyed travel, spending time at their Oregon vacation home and just being home with each other.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and had a booth in an antique mall where she spent many hours arranging and selling.
In her youth, travel was her hobby, traveling extensively in Europe on several occasions.
Tamara is survived by her loving husband Tim Singer, step-children Abygail Singer, Joseph Singer, and Jason and Missy Singer. She was preceded in death by her brothers Brad and David Scheire.
