Celebration of Life

Provided.

Leslie Anne (Hobbs) Nelson.

Leslie Anne (Hobbs) Nelson was born Jan, 20, 1962 at Tehachapi Hospital to Laura (Anderson) Weltin and Louie Hobbs.

Leslie was raised in Tehachapi, attended local schools and was a class of 1980 THS graduate. She played basketball and threw shot put. Growing up she enjoyed fishing and backpacking on family vacations to the Eastern Sierras. She loved visiting her Nana and Papa (Tootie and Hooks Anderson) on Cherry Lane and Grandma Carrie in the "little red house." Leslie had a distinct smile and laugh that everyone knew her by.

Leslie enjoyed many craft projects from crocheting, painting rocks, sea shell frames and many others. She even had a custom "Crap (Craft) House" built! She also enjoyed gardening and had different areas with plants throughout her house. Hummingbirds were her Favorite visitor to the yard and she would sit on the deck enjoying them "buzzing her."

She was married to Jerry Carson and had one daughter, Carrie Marie. Jerry and Leslie later divorced. Leslie worked at various jobs as a bookkeeper.

Leslie met Curtis, her bar bouncer/wrestler in 2000 and they were united in marriage on July 10, 2004. They enjoyed many adventures and family times together. They explored many desert locations, spent time fishing and at the beach.

Leslie was so proud of her grandson Kayden. She took pride in being able to guide him daily and to be not only his Grammy, but his "best friend." Leslie was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer in March of 2023 and battled through chemo treatments with the help of her healthcare team and personal nurse, Cheryl Harris. Leslie passed unexpectedly in her home and in the loving arms of Kayden and Curtis on March 28.

Leslie is survived by her parents, Laura Weltin and Louie (Darla) Hobbs; her husband Curtis; her children Nathan(Stephanie) Nelson, Tyler Nelson and Carrie Carson; grandchildren Kayden and Axel; sisters Lori (Prentice) Woodard, Lynett Zahnow and Wendy(Matt) Walker; her brother Marcus(Christy) White; and many nieces and nephews.
