Melinda Irene Fleming December 11, 1950 – October 27, 2023

Melinda Irene (Helton) Fleming, 72, passed away at home in Alpine Forest, Tehachapi, surrounded by family.

Melinda was born in Taft, California, to Ninah Rae (Pierce) (Helton) Melton and James Ray Helton. She married Larry Richard Fleming in February 1969 in Wasco, California. They had three daughters: April Fleming, Natalee Geye (Dan) and Felicia Fleming.

She has lived in Kern County much of her life, yet raised her children on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, for eight years, and that is where she left her heart.

She worked managing house cleaning companies and as a homemaker, though her passion was for the visual arts. She dabbled in painting and drawing.

Preceding her in death were her father, James Ray Helton; mother, Ninah Rae Melton and brother, James Robert Helton. She is survived by her husband, Larry R. Fleming, her three daughters, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one uncle and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
