Mother, teacher, role model

April 29, 2023

Provided.

With Mother's Day and Teacher Appreciation Day being so close together this year, I find myself getting a little more personal than normal for this column.

You see, the owner of Simply Perfect Gifts and Decor is my mom, and she was an elementary school teacher for 20 years prior to moving to Tehachapi. Not only did she shape many young lives, she has been my teacher for the last 32 years. I'm sure I was her most difficult student, so I want to start off by thanking her for being an awesome mom, teacher and role model.

If you would like to show appreciation for your mother, teacher or another role model in your life, my mom's shop has just the thing. Some items are Mother's Day specific like mugs or Art Heart keepsakes, but there are so many items coming in that you are bound to find something specific for your loved one. I know my daughter plans on getting a set of cheese knives for her charcuterie-enthusiast mom.

There are plenty of teacher gifts, too. Forever flowers, porch spinners, aprons and fun coasters are really just the beginning. A fun idea to treat your favorite educator is a "pamper purse," a small handbag filled with goodies like a bath bomb, an artisan soap bar, a locally-inspired candle and a goat-milk lotion. It's everything they need for a spa experience in their own tub and a great way to show that you care.

No matter who or what occasion you need a gift for, you are sure to find the perfect gift at Simply Perfect Gifts and Decor. You can find my mom's store at 414 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Ste. B, right next door to Midori Sushi.
