Jake's Steakhouse now open for lunch

Barbara Ferrante, owner of Jake's Steakhouse, located at 213 S. Curry St. in Downtown Tehachapi, has announced that the restaurant is now open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a special menu that will change seasonally. As always, Jake's is open for dinner seven days a week from 4 to 9 p.m.
Barbara wants everyone to know that Jake's will also be open this year on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve for dinner featuring a special menu, yet to be released.
"Reservations are highly recommended," said Ferrante, who said she is currently planning a 16 oz. ribeye for Christmas Eve dinner but, as of mid-December, had not yet decided on a New Year's Eve entree. Check with the restaurant when making reservations. Jake's will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Jake's Steakhouse has been serving delicious dinners in Tehachapi for almost 20 years, with the same owner. Ferrante said the restaurant stayed open during COVID by featuring outdoor dining and by producing family-style take-out meals.
She is currently looking into possibly producing family-style meals again in the new year, with the idea of orders being in by noon and available for pick-up by 2 p.m.
Most of her staff has returned after COVID, and Ginger and Mike are back behind the bar between 3 and 9 p.m.
During the week, the back room is available for parties of up to 35 people. Before the pandemic, the room had become a favorite meeting place for several local groups and Ferrante said she looks forward to having them all return.
