Holiday Decorating Contest

Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce

Decorating Contest for Downtown businesses. Decorate your business window to celebrate Tehachapi Hometown Christmas!

Must be fun and most importantly represent Tehachapi. Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place winners. Contest ends Dec. 3.

Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26

Holiday Bazaar, hosted by the Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association.

Nov. 25 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 26

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Whiting Center, 26940 Bear Valley Rd., Tehachapi.

Shop early for the holidays! Enjoy your favorite local artists, Santa’s Cafe, and Santa’s Mailbox. Gate pass from a BVS resident needed for entry into Bear Valley Springs.

The Friends of the Tehachapi Library will be having a pop-up Christmas Book Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be in the warm and comfy Tehachapi Library located at 212 S. Green St. There will be free cocoa/coffee and different holiday crafts for the kids too.

Christmas Parade the theme chosen by the City of Tehachapi is Tehachapi Hometown Christmas. Beginning at Mulberry St. the parade route is down F St. starting at 5:30 p.m. For more information contact the Chamber office at (661) 822-4180.

Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Tehachapi Rotary, Kiwanis, Lion clubs and Masons.

Held at Aspen Builders Inc. Activity Center, 410 W. D St. from 8 to 10 a.m.

Free picture with Santa, plus games and kids activities and breakfast (pancakes, sausage and beverages) for the whole family. Admission and parking is FREE.

Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 & 17

Santa at the Depot, photos with Santa at the Depot is back, along with a bake sale and hot chocolate that will be available for donations only on Dec. 3. Santa will be around from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Depot will be open until 8 p.m. Santa will be back from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 17. The pictures will be digital only with picture package available for $20.

German Christmas Market, Dec. 3 noon to 7 p.m., Dec. 4 noon to 6 p.m. at Dorner Family Vineyards, 18274 Old Ranch Rd., (661) 823-7814, http://www.dornerfamilyvineyard.com.

Featuring 60 local artisan vendors, gourmet kitchen gift shop, traditional German food, sweets, snacks & pretzels, glühwein by glass or bottle, carolers, and wine glass painting class (fee). Santa will be there on Sunday and you can purchase wine for the holidays.

Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra, featuring selections from Handel’s Messiah at 7 p.m. The Symphony Orchestra will also perform five different carols by David Willcocks, and the Shepherd’s Pipe Carol by John Rutter. The Tehachapi Symphonic Chorus will be will be adding their voices to the joy of this concert. Do plan to attend. Donations will be accepted.

Southern Sierra Pops Plays Annual Holiday Concert, hosted by the Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association. Located at the Whiting Center, 26940 Bear Valley Rd., Tehachapi, at 2 p.m.

Wreaths Across America in Tehachapi is sponsored this year by the 5150 Dieselz of Tehachapi. Wreaths will be laid out at Westside Cemetery at 9 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the Eastside Cemetery. Closing ceremony will take place at Freedom Plaza at 5 p.m. Donations can be made through Robert and Debie Peralta at (661) 333-7184 or (661) 303-0878.

Wreaths Across America in Mojave will meet at 11 a.m. The goal for Mojave Cemetery is to raise enough funds to place 510 sponsored wreaths on the headstones of all the local heroes laid to rest there, to ensure that the individuals who served to protect the freedoms of our country never be forgotten and to bring the community together in patriotic commemoration.

Triassic Vineyard’s New York New Year’s Eve Celebration, 5 to 9:30 p.m. LIL’ Entertainment playing hits from all genres. Red House BBQ is serving dinner.
