Posting the colors on Veterans Day 2021.

On Friday, Nov. 11, Tehachapi will be celebrating veterans Day in Philip Marx Central Park. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with military displays and informational booths from local veteran-related groups.

The American Legion Riders will arrive at 11 a.m. to post the colors. The national anthem will follow, sung by Tehachapi's own Christina Scrivner. Everything will stop at 11:11 a.m. in memory of the moment of the signing of the Armistice, followed by a prayer lead by Col. Wes Clare, USAF Ret., pastor of St. Jude in the Mountains Anglican Church in Tehachapi.

Following the ceremonies there will be food available for sale and a Bootcamp Obstacle Course for the kids. Every child who completes the course will receive a military dog tag. The informational booths will remain open and music will be supplied by a DJ.

Sponsors of the event are Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District, American Legion Post 221, American Legion Unit 221, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Riders Chapter 221, 5150 Dieselz and Four Seasons Blue Star Moms.
