Tehachapi Apple Festival – On Oct. 15 & 16 along S. Green St., in Downtown Tehachapi

Don't leave the kids at home. This festival is filled with family fun. We have a Kids Zone sponsored by Waste Management where you can buy a bracelet for $10 per kid and they can spend as much time as they want on the array of colorful and fun bounce houses. The Kids Zone is at the Tehachapi Train Depot Museum across the street from the festival. There are age appropriate bounce houses and a wide-variety of options for hours of fun.

The area is manned by volunteers from The Tehachapi Wrestling Club who are there to sell all day bracelets or one bounce house ticket. They also ensure the safety of all kids experiencing the bounce houses.

At the other end of the festival between, E St. and D St. are a series of FREE fun, old-fashioned carnival games. There are prizes available and games range in age from fishing in a pool, to frisbee toss. We have many fun games to choose from like knock down the clown, corn hole, putt putt golf, balloon car races and more. Experience the petting zoo, presented by Windswept Ranch, or get your kids face painted by a professional face painter– again, for FREE.

This year we're having a Hula Hoop contest each day. We'll also have bouncy ball races, egg on the spoon races and apple bobbing on a string. And we are thrilled to bring back the Puppet Shows with marionettes on a string. Our Puppet Master, David Steele Reed, will feature a couple of nursery stories to satisfy the imagination. Games and events are being run by our own THS Cheerleading Squad. We are always looking for fun activities, so come see what we have in store this year.
