What's Up in Bear Valley Springs?

August 20, 2022

The BVSA has changed their meeting day for the regular open meetings to the fourth Tuesday of the month, still at 6 p.m. at the Oak Tree Country Club. If you want to know what decisions are being made regarding our community, consider attending a meeting or two.

Summer is coming to a close, and with it, the Friday night movies at Cub Lake. The last movie will be on Aug. 26 and is “Jurassic Park Dominion.”

Also coming to an end will be the open pool swim. Sept. 6 will be the last day. Water aerobics, however, will continue till the end of September. No lifeguards will be on duty so you will need to sign a liability waiver. On the other hand, the pool will be open from October on for BVS Aquatics. This includes lap swimmers and independent water aerobics work-outs, as well as the BVS Grizzly Swim team. A mandatory briefing is required to attend these swim times.

The BVS Cultural Arts Association is looking forward to their 37th Annual Art Show, opening Sept. 10. If you are an artist who would like to enter and are not already a member, you can pick up a form at the OTCC. The final entry date is Sept. 1. The popular reception will take place at the OTCC on Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. Non-members pay $10 for the reception. Members get in free. You can also peruse the wonderful art at your leisure for free during the week following the reception. A docent will be on hand to take your payment if you find a piece or two that tickles your fancy.

Enjoy what’s left of our summer, and the cooler temperatures to come.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
