The ceremony will be conducted by Mr. Michael Sabol, President of the Korean War veterans Association of Kern County, and a Marine Corps veteran. He stated, “We look forward to this yearly opportunity to honor and pay tribute to Kern County servicemembers killed in action during the Korean War, and to honor their families, as well.” Scheduled as part of the ceremony are prayers by Pastor Jordan, Presentation of Colors by the Associated veterans of Kern County, singing of the South Korean and United States National Anthems by Cassie Choi Jue, remarks by Rick Anthony, Director of Bakersfield Parks and Recreation, Mayor Karen Goh, City Councilman Ken Weir, Assemblyman Vince Fong, and Senator Shannon Grove, reading the names of Kern County’s fallen during the Korean War, and laying of wreaths by the Bakersfield Korean American Community and the Korean War veterans Association of Kern County.
