The Association elections are over. Three seats were up for grabs. Guy Munday won the most votes followed by Peggy Bergman-Smith and Jim Panek. Congratulations to you all. And thank you for stepping up again. Jim Panek wasn’t a current incumbent, but is well-known for having served previously. Guy Munday and Peggy Bergman-Smith will resume their service.

The kids are out of school, and well into swimming lessons at our community pool. The swim team is at practice each morning, as well. And then, the ever-popular water aerobics class takes place at 10:15 a.m., five days a week. The instructor, Marti Sprinkel, is certified and has led the classes here for 20 years. If keeping fit on hard surfaces is painful for you, consider water aerobics. Several people in the class have testified that it enables them to stay active, and it is therapeutic for all participants. The price is right—only $30 per month, or $3 on a daily basis. But if you are really an early-bird, you might want to look into lap swim.

Of course, there are other ways to keep fit in this community. Margaret Bold has her “Move It With Margaret” classes, also known as sit-fit. But you don’t have to sit. More than half the class stands for most of the exercises. The class takes place Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. And they are free. If you are into more heavy-duty fitness, Caitlyn has classes Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 9:15 a.m. These are intense, but fun, and cost $5 per class.

The Bear Valley Buckaroos are hosting the 10th Annual Mule and Horse Show at the Equestrian Center, Aug. 5, 6 and 7.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
