Miniture carving of the Errea House carved by Don Kordes and Janice Polletta to be placed in the new Errea Garden.

Work on the redesign of the Errea Garden is nearing completion. A portion of the original garden was lost to a new owner several years ago and the Heritage League was given a new portion of land behind the Errea House.

For three years, work has been ongoing to redesign and repurpose the garden, enclosed by a new wooden fence enclosing the garden.

Mary Cunningham volunteered to be the chairperson and has worked for three years on redesigning and doing much of the work herself, assisted by Board Member Rich Erdman.

In addition to major layout changes, Mary has worked with volunteers to transplant many of the irises, lilacs, rose bushes and other plants from the original garden.

A dedication ceremony with refreshments and wine will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28 in the garden at the Errea House, located at 310 S. Green St. Please join the Tehachapi Heritage League for the dedication. For more information, call Charles White at (661) 972-0958.
