Camping season is upon us and Tehachapi's moderate summer temperatures make for a great time outdoors for campers of all ages. The following information is about local campgrounds and RV parks in Tehachapi. Be sure to call ahead!

Brite Lake

Brite Lake is 90 acres located on Banducci Road, off the intersection of Highline Road and Highway 202. The campground has hook-ups and tent sites. Restrooms and showers are located near the camping grounds. Fishing is available at the lake in season, 5 trout/5 catfish limit per person per day, as well as picnic pavilions. Brite Lake is open all year long.

Brite Valley Aquatic Recreation Area is owned by the Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District and operated by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District. Water from Brite Lake is used for agriculture and as a domestic water supply. Therefore, swimming, wading or any activity involving bodily contact with the water in the lake is absolutely prohibited.


Tehachapi Mountain Park

Located 8 miles southwest of Tehachapi. Elevation ranges from 5,500 to 7,000 feet. Forests, four seasonal weather, natural spring water, hiking and equestrian trails. Campsites throughout, some with corrals. Mountain camp for groups (minimum 40 people) has 10 cabins with shower and toilet facilities and a full service kitchen and dining hall. Other sites have picnic tables, BBQ Grills and water. Call for reservations.

Indian Hill Ranch RV Park

Located in Brite Valley, 2 miles off Highway 202 on Arosa Road, Indian Hill Ranch RV Park offers year round RV spaces with water, 50 amp electric service and sewer hookups on paved surface. Pull thrus up to 70 feet are available for overnighters, and back in spaces for longer term occupancy. Behind the gate is our seasonal area featuring Hill Side view sites and Twin Lakes sites with electric and water hookups. For group use, Twin Lakes area has a core restroom with 14 toilets, 6 showers, 9 large sites with water and electric and overflow area to accommodate 250 rigs. Some events that have been conducted are Indian Pow Wow, Family Reunions, Weddings, Church Group Campouts, Day Camp for Children, Fitness Bike and Hike events, Film Location, Paint ball/air soft matches and more. Located adjacent to the Mountain Valley Airport on Highline Rd., this park is open year round. 27 spaces available, all with water, electricity and tables. Pets on leashes OK. Laundry facilities, hot showers and a dump station. Airport offers glider rides and the Raven's Nest restaurant features fresh made breakfast and lunch fare. Call for reservations.
